For those who are not in the mood to pitch a tent or pull an RV into a campsite, this pet friendly yurt house is a wonderful alternative. The spacious circular home offers plenty of room for everyone to sleep comfortably, with bunk beds and a futon, a wood-burning stove and heater, and an outside deck. Guests are welcome to cook at the picnic table or use the grate on the fire pit. Guests also have access to restrooms and showers in the campground.
The yurt is just two miles from the Nisqually entrance to Mount Rainier National Park, where guests can enjoy a hike along the park’s many trails. Other activities in the area include fishing and swimming, or simply relaxing by the beach. A full kitchen is available in the yurt for those who wish to make their own meals, and the site comes with a propane barbecue. Guests are asked to keep their pets on leash at all times and to clean up after them.

Guests are welcome to stay in the park’s eight pet-friendly Pacific Yurts, all of which have electrical hookups, lighting and two beds for sleeping. Guests are encouraged to bring their own food and cook at the picnic tables, or they can dine in the campground’s day-use area. The yurts are within walking distance of the beach, and other amenities such as restrooms and showers are also available.
Champoeg State Heritage Area celebrates Oregon’s first provisional government in 1843, and guests can learn about pioneer life at rustic cabins, a store and the historic visitor center. Camping is also offered at the park, and three pet-friendly yurts are available for overnight stays. The yurts are 16' in diameter and can accommodate up to five people.
